Tork was exiled from his Kenku clan due to his ill-fated attempt to burgle the most treasured artifact of his remote tribe: a mystical emerald capable of transporting Kenku to alternate realms. Originally trained as an assassin in the Kenku royal army during the turbulent days of the Kenku civil war, he abandoned that life when peace descended upon the Kenku realm. Embracing the tranquility, he embarked on a career as a merchant, which ultimately led him to encounter the enchanted emerald for the first time.
The emerald’s allure proved irresistible, and Tork succumbed to temptation during a visit to the Kenku royal museum. However, his stealthy endeavor was thwarted when he was caught off guard by vigilant onlookers. A violent confrontation ensued, leaving him battered and banished from his village. Since then, he has roamed far from his homeland, eventually settling in the distant town of Phandalin.
In Phandalin, Tork established a modest storefront, the Nest Egg, but his persistent penchant for criminal activities, murder, and an insatiable attraction to shiny objects continued to cloud his judgment and draw him into perilous situations. Fortunately, his ability to seamlessly blend into the shadows allowed him to evade most threats, yet the specter of ill fortune always lurked on the horizon, threatening to catch up with him.
